07 Ice Cream Social
28 June 2009
Sunday Afternoon at The Company Store
On Sunday, June 28, the Denali H-D hosted an Ice Cream Social, in cooperation with the 1836 Chapter. Really good ice cream, on a warm, clear, Sunny afternoon – a most welcome excuse to forget whatever chores you were supposed to finish that day. Remembering, the “partly rainy” times from last summer, all in the rear view mirror now.
Pondering, who created the term “social”. Would that be a friendly thing? Or would that be a bad thing, as in “social disease”? I’m going to go out on a limb here, and suggest that somehow, Feminine Logic is involved. Yes, I’m called Slow Vince for a reason.
Take a look at the first picture. Do those two hivernants doing the front door greeting duty look “SOCIAL” to you? Can’t trust’em – they let non-Harleys park right by the front door. They’re almost as ugly as I am. Forget buying a used bike from them, would you really eat ice cream with those guys? In public, with people that you know, as witnesses?
However, if you got past the greeters, and made your way around to the back lot, things got a lot better; friendlier, more relaxed, more… Social!
